  • Foreign music is my drug and war with the red record!

    1/18/2010

This is a really odd topic, but bare with me guys! Okay, when I was young I was so facinated by the way music moved me, made me feel all bubbly, as a grew older I got annoyed with the repetative mushy american love songs, blond hair blue eyed boy loves cheerleader and rap gangsta guy wants that booty and rolls, or the predictable county song about gittin drunk and havin a ball, or losin the love of my life type deal, i'm not trying to say these are bad songs just repetitive topics. Then when I was about 11-12ish I stumbled across techno, european music, the rasmus was my first foriegn band and I swear my eyes were fixated to the computer screen in schock that 1. these people knew english well, 2. their way of thinking is diffrent, the style is diffrent, there is a god and.... nuff said! Anyway I started looking up collabs and came across Apocalypitca, another amazing unique band and next was the shiny Tokio Hotel, I was probably 13-14 when I found them and they still rock my socks. There is placebo, KERLI <333 patrick wolf. So many unique forms of music all meshed up with beautiful looks! I'll give evanescence, H.I.M and paramore some credit for being non-foreign and still kickin the style! I cant get over how one wayed the American music industry is, your eigther feed with a silver spoon*taylor swift* sing like you have a head cold and have a famous daddy*ehem Miley Cyrus* and act like your not a slut/ jailbait, gotta be blunt guys. If you have any really good foreign bands just post it in the comment section, Finding new bands is alwasy fun! :) ( I acctually like bands that sing in other languages as well) Oh god here comes another rant I feel it! I'll make it short. When people sing in their native toung they are in their element, and they have more control over themselfs making the music just that much better, but singing in english is great too, just saying whatever comes to mind! :D Oh and this evil red record thingy that forbids me of putting up any pics is going down * I hope* *edit* YAAY it's over! <3 we won!

  • Me and my crazy inspiration

    1/16/2010

My name is Lauren and I'm from a small town, born and raised but I don't seem to fit here, I feel suffocated. People are so blind sited and narrow minded, so judgmental. I feel a huge connection to anything that lets me connect to art. My first love began with music, dating back to my crib as my mom says I sang all the time, but I remember my first solo in kindergarten and had one every year after that. Art is expressed in everything I do right down to making sandwiches. Drawing, sketching, dancing, makeup, cooking and writing are some common outlets. I excel in language arts so I’m in honors courses but no worries i'm not one of those snotty people who thinks they know it all, in fact I'm the polar opposite, this world is so complex it makes my head spin. My birthday is 03-03-93 ironically enough I was born on the third floor of the hospital and my moms birthing room was 333. I'm one of those superstitious people considering my house is full of whispers at night and sometimes signs are during the day and I’m not the only person hearing them, my mom and brother fall under the same category. I'm a major Tokio Hotel fan, my first taste of high quality music with unique un-prick like people to boot! Kerli is another great artist who deserves so much credit for her efforts and real personality, none of that bullshit i'm miss perfect Disney Barbie crap America is in love with. Yeah I’m from America, if you like that stuff i'm not gonna judge as long as you like Kerli (or TH) your cool with me. :) To wrap my long old book up here feel free to message me about anything. I'm super mellow. I'm gonna be honest internet flirting is weird and creepy to me so don't do it, much appreciated! The world and it's elements are beautiful and should be appreciated and treated with more respect, I’m a pieces which is a water sign so brush your teeth in the shower or something cause it's a valuable resource! I'd like to add one last thing before your eyeballs melt (hopefully not from me boring you to tears!) and this is important, L-O-V-E and respect. This world is sooo packed with unrealistic self image, crappy home-life, war, global warming, the list will continue into eternity and I want to make it clear that no one should feel this way because we all have some amount of compassion and love that is typically hidden under pressure of the world so if everyone could spread it around more often, break the boundaries and be someone's angel not the person who breaks them. I hope I didn't overkill this blog thing! XD
